I Bought both this one and Zalman 3000U becuase i coudnt choose, i decided that the cryo cooler is better and sent the zalman packing, both were very quit, zalman was slightly quiter. but cooling wise cryo was cooler, cryo is better for traveling becuase it folds where as the zalman is huge. cryo is all metal as where the zalman still has plastic housings, the pitch on the fan blades cryo has a much bigger pitch where i believe produces more air flow,
Hope this helps all of you like me choose between these two

| Took almost a month to ship this product, only for me to find something that barely lasted a few weeks. Terrible product and terrible service from . |

I was never a firm believe in laptop cooling until I came across this unit.
It's quite heavy, but the noise control, fan control, external usb ports, and build quality is superb. It's also quite a beautiful and sleek product.
Not recommended for laptops with no fans on the bottom (such as a macbook). It may help a bit, but the price is quite high for limited cooling.
Also not recommended for laptops with a weak power supply if you aren't plugging this thing into the wall.
I used a Sager NP8662 for cooler, and it was a pleasure.
The viewing angle is nice, and so is the typing angle.
I would definitely buy this again. |

I have a Gateway p-6831, upgraded to a p9300 2.5ghz chip with a 17inch screen. So my big ol laptop gets pretty hot during intense gaming sessions. This cooler is big, quiet, efficent, powerful and is a perfect fit for my rig. It has significantly lowered the temp during long C.O.D. battles. It can be powered by an outlet or usb. Powering it through an outlet increases the fans output and cooling potential vs usb. It has 5 usb ports in the back of it, one being used to connect to your computer. I have more than 4 usb powered things so i use a usb hub and connect that to one of the ports and that works fine.
This is a pretty big item and isnt something that is very prtable. But if you dont plan on moving it much, then this cooler is a beast of a product and worth every penny in helping protect your computer. |
