| I put these into an overhead device that held four bulbs and a ceiling fan. One of the bulbs immediately burned out. Had to return. |

As soon as I installed these 26W bulbs in my study room, my wife said: "Is there a UFO landed in our home?" The color temperature is 6500K. It is not really white or natural. The light is blueish-white. I don't think this is good for reading.
Also it is not really as bright as a 150W incandescent bulb. I've compared the 26W version of Verilux with a 75W incandescent. The incandescent won. I also found the cheap GE bulbs you could find at Walmart brighter than this one.
There are cheaper and better choices available.

| I ordered these bulbs for my Verilux lamp without realizing the base is not compatible with my Verilux lamps. My lamps, which are about a year old, require dual pin connectors, although the description of these bulbs, with a standard screw-in base, didn't mention the distinction. Everything else appears identical. I've kept the bulbs, deciding to use them in other, standard-base, lamps. But that begs the question, "why buy the lamps from Verilux at all if the bulbs are interchangeable?" I'm just saying..... |
| Nice Happy Light! Great for reading and crafting! | 2010-01-08 | 5 / 5 |

I bought these and noticed I was more awake and alert. I use them in my lamps that I have on in the morning, and do feel more alert after just a few minutes. They have a nice clear light not the yellow light of most of the bulbs you buy. Also great for reading and crafting! I think for crafting they compare to the ott light which is very expensive. I do a lot of hand work and find these bulbs give me enough light to do this fine work.
I am going to recomend these to my friends and family. If you have SAD I would try these first before buying the expensive happy lights. |

| I ordered these even after reading other reviews saying that they came broken. I ordered them with something else and they did, indeed, come broken. sent me a new pkg. immediately-thanks cust. service!-and they were all in one piece. The bulbs themselves fit a regular socket, give off pure white light and are exactly what I wanted for my application. I wanted full spectrum bulbs because I'm newly diagnosed with SAD and although they aren't meant to be SAD lights, they do help. I'm very satisfied and will order them again. I also ordered another Verilux product and am happy with that, as well. |
